Leandro Giovanni Ang Soon Huat, of Chinese and Brazilian parentage, was born to play football. His parents seek to protect the lad from their own bias towards the game but when he enrols into Morrison High School, Coach Malcolm Ramsey spots the young boy’s unusual talent. His heart races with excitement. Leandro does not disappoint and dazzles with his feet while spectators think he could turn out to be a “Twinkletoes”. In the 1950s, Chia Boon Leong, the best winger Singapore ever had, was given the nickname. Leandro’s future looks bright and all agree he’s sure to be a star! This series is about the footballing adventures of Leandro and his friends at the extraordinary Morrison High, where caring principal Mr Billy Chin seeks to do his best for each and every pupil. Off the field, Leandro, together with friends Jasmine, Hock Ann, Augustine and others, have to grapple with the pangs of teenage years.
